Why first: Notion is still one of the cleaner product engineering names to have on a resume. This one asks for previous internship experience, TypeScript/Node/Python, and a graduation date before Summer 2027, so it is best if you already have one decent SWE internship and want the next one to feel like a step up.

Pay: $122,600-$170,000/yr listed
Why first: Amazon Leo is the low Earth orbit internet project, formerly Project Kuiper. The requirements are very normal Amazon SDE stuff: data structures, algorithms, OOP, and a CS/STEM degree in progress. Good one if you want Amazon, but with a more interesting story than "I worked on an internal tool."

Why first: Cohere is an enterprise AI company, and the posting is refreshingly simple: enrolled in a post-secondary program and available for a full-time 3-6 month internship or co-op. If you want AI company experience without needing a PhD listing, start here.
NEW GRAD / EARLY CAREER
Nuro - Software Engineer, AI Platform - New Grad - Nuro is autonomous driving/robotics, and this role is AI platform work for new grads. Good fit if you can talk about distributed systems, C++/Python, ML, or performance work without freezing up.
Quicken Loans - iOS Mobile Software Developer I - Recent-grad iOS role in Seattle with Swift and SwiftUI called out. Not every reader has mobile experience, but if you do, this is cleaner than applying to another generic backend role with 4,000 applicants.
Paperless Parts - Platform Engineer - Smaller company, but the setup is nice: manufacturing SaaS, platform/DevOps work, Python as a plus, 0-1 years of experience, and $124K-$168K listed. Very worth opening if you like infra and do not need a huge logo.
Built - Software Engineer I, Internal Tooling - Built works in construction finance software, which sounds boring until you remember boring industries often have real software problems and less student stampede traffic. This one is Software Engineer I, Nashville, and $75K-$115K listed.
INTERNSHIPS
Rippling - Software Engineer Intern, Backend Focused - Winter 2027 - Backend internship at Rippling with Python and previous internship/co-op experience in the requirements. Best for people who already have one SWE internship and want something more serious next.
Amazon - 2026 Fall Applied Science Internship, Recommender Systems / Information Retrieval - PhD only, but worth opening if you are in ML, recommender systems, or search. The pay band is listed at $142K-$193K annualized, which is not a typo I enjoyed reading calmly.
TikTok - Software Engineer Intern (Live Service) - 2026 Summer (BS/MS) - BS/MS internship on TikTok live services. Good if you want backend, scale, C/C++/Java/Python/Go, and a product people have actually heard of.
PlusAI - Perception Intern - PlusAI works on autonomous trucking, and this is perception work in Santa Clara. More niche, but great if your projects are in robotics, ML, deep learning, or sensor-heavy software.
AMETEK - Firmware / Software Engineering Intern - Embedded software internship in San Diego with DSP, control systems, and power electronics in the posting. Not as flashy as the AI names, but honestly a nice fit if you want real hardware-adjacent engineering.
