Virtu is paying up to $5,800 a week for its software internship, Amazon has an early-career role on the team behind AWS chips, and Waabi is hiring AI and robotics research interns in both the US and Canada.

Location: Austin or New York (on-site)
Pay: $5,000-$5,800/week
Why it made the list: Virtu is one of the biggest electronic trading firms, and its interns work on the systems that price and execute trades in real time. The pay is frankly ridiculous for an internship, but you will need strong Python plus Java or C++. Best fit for rising juniors.

Location: Austin, TX
Pay: $110.5K-$160K/year
Why it made the list: Annapurna Labs is the AWS team behind chips like Graviton. This role gets into compilers, computer architecture, and low-level systems work, so it is worth opening if you have stronger C or C++ projects and want something more specialized than a standard product role.
Level: Internship / co-op
Location: San Francisco, Toronto, or remote US
Pay: $40-$55 USD/hour; $45-$60 CAD/hour
Why it made the list: Waabi is building self-driving trucks with an AI-first approach. Interns work on perception, planning, simulation, and mapping, and projects, coding competitions, papers, or past internships can all help you qualify. Worth opening if you have already done some ML or robotics work and want to use it on actual vehicles.

NEW GRAD / EARLY CAREER
ZEDEDA builds software that helps companies run AI and cloud workloads across fleets of edge devices. It is a smaller name, but the experience is broad: Go, microservices, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and production health. The role asks for 0-2 years and pays $120K-$140K in San Jose.
UST is a global tech services company. This role is specifically for 2024-2026 grads, and internships, bootcamps, academic projects, or self-directed work can count toward the one-year requirement. Worth a look if you have SQL plus any Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric, or Power BI projects. On-site in Frisco, $50-$55/hour.
INTERNSHIPS
PhD students only, but a very good one if that is you. The team works on search, grocery catalog knowledge, LLM reasoning, and large-scale ML systems. Remote US, up to $50/hour, with Python or Go plus a solid ML and optimization background.
SEL builds the hardware and software utilities use to protect and control the power grid. This internship is on its communications and cybersecurity team, and coursework or personal projects count for OOP, data structures, and algorithms. On-site in Boise, $24.25-$33/hour.
Hermeus is building high-speed aircraft, so the software is a little more exciting than another dashboard. The fall intern works on flight and mission systems in C or C++ and connects code to hardware like Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, and STM32s. On-site in Atlanta.
APPLICATION MOVE OF THE DAY
Before applying, move the project that proves the exact requirement into the first half of your resume: embedded hardware for Hermeus, distributed systems for ZEDEDA, or SQL and data tooling for UST.
