Hey everyone!
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading :)
I was expecting a pretty quiet one today. Then SpaceX put up a few new Starlink roles and ByteDance followed with both an early-career ML job and a $45-$60/hr infrastructure internship.
A couple of the jobs below have citizenship, clearance, or PhD requirements. I called those out so nobody has to find out after filling in half the application.
Let's get into it!
TODAY'S DROP
8 roles
6 new grad / early career
2 internships
Best companies: SpaceX, ByteDance, Lockheed Martin, Toyota Research Institute
APPLY FIRST
Level: Early career (1+ year; internships count)
Location: Redmond, WA / On site
Pay: $125,000-$150,000/yr
Why first: This is really a full-stack Starlink role: React and TypeScript on the front, with .NET services and Kubernetes underneath. The nice part for newer grads is that SpaceX explicitly counts internship experience toward the one-year requirement.
Level: Early career (1+ year)
Location: San Jose, CA / On site
Pay: $122,574-$316,800/yr
Why first: ByteDance is TikTok's parent company, and this team keeps large recommendation systems running in production. The job leans more toward distributed systems and cloud infrastructure than ML research: Python or Go, Kafka, Redis, Terraform, and Kubernetes. Worth a look if the systems side of ML interests you more than model training.
Level: Entry level
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD / On site
Pay: $70,100-$123,625/yr
Why first: This one is SQL, Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, and database design for Lockheed's cyber and intelligence work. The technical requirements are lighter than most defense listings, but US citizenship and clearance eligibility are mandatory.
NEW GRAD / EARLY CAREER
UST HealthProof builds technology for health insurers. The title says data engineer, but the job is closer to full-stack development across React, Java or Python, APIs, SQL, and data platforms. It is open to 2024-2026 grads with up to three years of experience and pays $50-$55/hr. A 3.5 GPA is required.
Vanteon is a small electronics product-development firm that was recently acquired by PDW. You would work in C/C++ across RTOS, embedded Linux, device drivers, and board support with guidance from senior engineers. They ask for one to five years and pay $80K-$120K. US citizens only.
ArcheSys is a small government technology contractor. This remote role covers AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring, so there is a lot to learn if cloud projects are already your thing. They want one to three years, a cloud certification, and the ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Pay is $50K-$65K and there is no sponsorship.
INTERNSHIPS
This 12-week summer internship works on the Cloud IDE, repositories, CI/CD, and staging environments behind TikTok, Ads, and Shopping. It is a good one for students whose projects lean backend or cloud, and it pays $45-$60/hr in San Jose.
This one is PhD-only and very specific: world models, reinforcement learning, 3D perception, and autonomous-driving simulation. The team expects prior research and publications, but the internship is built around original work with a goal of publishing again. It pays $45-$65/hr and is hybrid in Los Altos.
Best of luck!
See you shortly,
